Vol. 01 · The Method

How the PN Test
Simulation works.

A real practice test should behave like the real exam. Here is how Study With Lily mirrors the computer-adaptive PN blueprint.

  1. Practice a test that adapts like the real thing

The NCLEX-PN® is computer-adaptive, so it gets harder or easier based on how you answer. Study With Lily works the same way. Every session adjusts difficulty in real time, so you're always practicing at the level the exam will actually push you to.

  2. Get an instant rationale after every question

Each rationale explains why the right answer works and why each wrong option does not. You're not waiting until the end of a mock test to learn what you missed. You fix it in the moment.

  3. Track your readiness by client-needs category

See your mastery across the same categories the 2026 PN test plan uses, weighted toward Coordinated Care the way the blueprint is. Lily drills the topics you keep missing until you're confident going into test day.

Vol. 02 · The Exam

What the 2026
NCLEX-PN® looks like.

Know the format before you sit for it. Here is what the practical nurse exam actually does, and how your practice should match it.

It's computer-adaptive, 85 to 150 questions

The NCLEX-PN® uses computer-adaptive testing. The exam serves between 85 and 150 questions and ends once it can determine your result with confidence, so you won't see the same test as your classmates. Study With Lily's Test Simulation mirrors that adaptive behavior so the format feels familiar on test day.

There's no fixed passing percentage

You don't need to hit a set score or answer a certain percentage correctly. The exam decides pass or fail once it's confident your ability is above or below the passing standard. That's why practicing at adaptive difficulty matters more than chasing a percentage on a static mock test.

Coordinated Care leads the PN blueprint

The 2026 PN test plan puts more weight on Coordinated Care than the RN exam does. You practice the LPN/LVN version of delegation, supervision, and care coordination, where you receive direction and reinforce the plan of care rather than lead it.

Every question uses a Next Gen format

The NCLEX-PN® uses the same Next Gen formats as the RN exam: SBA (single best answer), SATA (select all that apply), Matrix, Drop-Down Cloze, BowTie, and Unfolding Case Studies. Your practice test rotates all of them, so nothing on exam day is a surprise.

Is this NCLEX-PN® practice test really free?

Yes. You can start free with no credit card. The free tier gives you 5 practice questions a day with adaptive difficulty, instant rationales, and all Next Gen question formats. Full Access is $9.99/month for unlimited practice, compared with roughly $59/month for UWorld and $249+ for Kaplan. Cancel anytime.

How many questions is the real NCLEX-PN®?

The NCLEX-PN® is computer-adaptive and serves between 85 and 150 questions. It ends once it can determine your result with confidence, so you won't answer the same number as the student next to you. Study With Lily's practice adapts the same way, so you get used to the format before test day.

What score do I need to pass the NCLEX-PN®?

There's no fixed passing percentage. The computer-adaptive engine scores the exam and decides pass or fail once it's confident your ability is above or below the passing standard. So the best way to prepare is to practice at adaptive difficulty and close the gaps in your weakest client-needs categories. That's exactly what Study With Lily focuses on.

Does this practice test match the 2026 PN test plan?

Yes. Study With Lily is built on the official 2026 NCLEX-PN® test plan structure. Practice follows the same client-needs categories the exam uses, weighted toward Coordinated Care the way the PN blueprint is, and it includes every Next Gen question format.

What question types will I practice?

The Next Gen formats the NCLEX-PN® uses: SBA (single best answer), SATA (select all that apply), Matrix, Drop-Down Cloze, BowTie, and Unfolding Case Studies. Study With Lily rotates all of them into your sessions based on your difficulty level and the topic you're studying.

Does this work for LVN students too?

Yes. LVN (licensed vocational nurse) is the same license as LPN in California and Texas, and both sit for the NCLEX-PN®. Everything here is built for that exam, so LVN students practice the exact same blueprint.
