Q1of 3

A 68-year-old man with peripheral neuropathy from long-standing type 2 diabetes had a below-knee amputation three months ago. Before the amputation he was fully independent in all activities of daily living. He now uses a new prosthetic leg and a front-wheeled walker, and his chart documents residual balance deficits with intermittent unsteadiness during weight-bearing transitions. He is alert, oriented to person, place, and time, and answers questions appropriately. In the outpatient rehabilitation clinic, he tells the nurse he wants to put on his own socks and shoes without help before his prosthetic-training session begins. He has not yet been formally evaluated for sitting balance or safe forward-reach tolerance with the prosthesis in place. Based on this information, what should the nurse recognize as the reason a formal assessment is needed before he attempts this task?

How many renal/urinary NCLEX® questions does StudyWithLily have?

Renal coverage includes acute kidney injury phases, chronic kidney disease staging, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, UTIs and catheter care, renal calculi, and fluid balance. Does StudyWithLily cover renal topics for the 2026 NCLEX®?

Yes. Renal items map to Physiological Adaptation and Reduction of Risk Potential in the 2026 NCSBN test plan, with emphasis on spotting which lab trend needs the provider now versus which finding is expected for the disease stage.

Can I practice renal questions for free?

Yes. The samples above are free with no account. A free account gets you 150 adaptive questions a month with full rationales.
