Common questions
What is a Drop-Down Cloze question on the NCLEX®?
A Drop-Down Cloze question shows a short clinical note with blanks embedded in the sentence. Each blank becomes a dropdown. You pick the option that makes the note clinically accurate. Think of it as finishing a handoff report one word at a time.
How is a Drop-Down Cloze scored on the NCLEX®?
Cloze uses NCSBN polytomous 0/1 scoring, one point per blank. Each dropdown is graded independently, so you earn credit for every blank you get right. There is no all-or-nothing penalty for missing one blank.
What makes Cloze different from SBA?
SBA gives you one big question and four options. Cloze stitches several small decisions into a single clinical note. You are not just picking one best answer, you are completing the full picture. That trains you to keep the whole scenario in your head while you work through it.
